Entry kali ni nak bercerita ttg clubfoot remaja..yelah kan anak den dah masuk 15 tahun pada tahun 2022 ni..

Agak mengecewakan bila ada yg dah stop brace bila umur anak baru 3 tahun..

Even lah doctor tuh discharge, continue je lah pakai brace sekiranya tiada halangan..

Kalau relapse, tak pasal je kena pasang simen balik...tak ke aniaya anak ?

Ponseti International memang recommend pemakaian brace until umur anak 5 tahun..

Makanya, bila ramai dah tak pakai brace Lepas umur 3 tahun, ramai lah mengadu anak jalan kaki ke dalam (toeing in)

Maaf lah .. Anak sy pakai brace sampai umur 5 tahun..mmg discipline..

Kaki Dania pernah relapse akibat jahilnya doctor dan kami 14 tahun dulu..

So rawatan dah sampai ke Bangkok, takkan nak buatkan kaki anak relapse pula?

Tapi cuba lah selesaikan once and for all..

Bila dah start rawatan, cara berjalan tuh yg membezakan anak u clubfoot atau tidak..

It has been 14 years that I have introduced Mitchell-Ponseti brace to Malaysian community..

Dr Amnuay yang tolong ukur masa tu, kami yang order straight from Iowa, US.

Dulu takde online shopping macam sekarang, and I remember we've  emailed to Brittany and we transferred money or payment was done using credit platform..2 kali je purchase...

Dengan Mitchell brace ni kita tak perlu ukur ngam2..Kita boleh lebihkan 1-3cm..boleh pakai lama sikit..Dania ads 2 braces je  dlm almost 5 tahun pakai..

So hangpa yang konon kene sampuk beli brace brand L yang claim lagi murah dari Mitchell Ponseti, tapi kene ganti selalu tuh nampak gaya dah kene tipu..😂😂

Brace Mitchell ni kita boleh ukur anggaran, and boleh lebihkan dlm 1-3cm..sy perasan ada yang kata terbeli besar..tapi jangan lah memandai yang baby umur 3 bulan u pegi beli size 6 size 10 buat apa??

boleh je baby setahun beli size 1 atau 2 bagi dia pakai sampai lencun...

2-3 tahun lepas saya ada jumpa imitation of Mitchell Ponseti ni yang claim konon dia pon sama bagus macam Mitchell Ponseti brace. Dorang claim effectiveness dia sama..siap dah ada distributor kat Malaysia ni...siap canang kat doktor they have ready stock..hahaha

Saya pon hairan but today, one of my clubfoot experience parents exposed that every single parts of Mitchell Brace ni dah dipatentkan..Maksudnya APA??!!! yang beli brand L tuh umpama beli barang imitation a.k.a barang tiruan..yang mana their testimonial pon boleh kita ragui..

8 out of 10 clubfoot physician in USA prescribed Mitchell Ponseti braces for their patient, so doktor-doktor yang claim tak tau Mitchell Ponseti ni sambung tidur lagi ke macam mana?

Sibuk pulak nak suruh patient pakai Dobbs Bar la apa lah...tapi treatment pon masih ke laut..

Oklah juga delivery timing dari u beli kat shopper or even I beli telekung dari Siti Khadijah pon 2 weeks baru sampai..

Apa benda pula Iowa Brace ni?

Another brace invented by Americans as improvement of Mitchell Brace. Dr Marcuende is one of the team.

Nak jadi cerita, last year I was waiting for MD Orthopedics to reply me on the issues highlighted by few parents mainly due to delivery leadtime. Yelah masa tuh Pandemic covid 19 ni baru start and delivery banyak delay.

So Ponseti International approached me and introduce me to Mr Todd Becker, the MD of Clubfoot Solutions. He is very humble and very passionate about clubfoot treatment. After few times communicate each other on clubfoot matters,  he sent me about 20 Iowa braces. He would like to distribute to whoever needed it most, and most importantly he wants our feedback.

So I decided to prioritise those who really serious on fixing her clubfoot child but can not afford to buy Mitchell, of course must be the member of Clubfoot Malaysia. I have approached few doctors to give me any contact of those in need.

So kelebihan Iowa Brace?

Ini dari pemerhatian saya as comparison to Mitchell Brace. 

✨ Iowa bar tidak mudah dibuka sendiri. However, ada satu clip ni kalau diletakkan ke lubang bar, ia akan mudah untuk mengeluarkan bar.

✨ Material dia adalah fabric dan selesa sebab ada padding yang bagus. Unlike Mitchell diperbuat dari sintetik kulit yang lembut. 

✨ Agak berat berbanding Mitchell. 

✨ Hanya memerlukan flexbar dan boleh dipakai dlm tempoh masa yg lama.

💕 dikatakan lebih murah dr Mitchell kerana it was mess production tetapi sampai sekarang saya tidak tahu berapa price brace ini.

Tapikan saya tetap prefer Mitchell Brace..😍

saya memang hardcore Mitchell Brace..Yang mana kata Dr Amnuay sendiri kata semua brace sama tuh maknanya korang tak kenal dia. He never condemn any brace but he told me Mitchell Brace is the most wonderful, magical n most effective brace. Teringat ada satu member ni siap copy paste ayat Dr Amnuay bagi kat i..

Semata sebab dia terbeli lain brand nak sedap kan hati...aduhaii 😜

Saya masih ada lagi few more size to give away but kena ikut syarat kelayakan..stok terhad..

2021- why we still find issues

From the photo shared by the parents, we found out many has been diagnosed as clubfoot whereby the heels look so fine and in tact. The feet is not twisted at all, they just curl in. They were given a pair of splint to treat the feet...adoiii lah doctor...

Do you know that many countries didn't use splint in correcting positional clubfoot anymore?

Even it is for clubfoot cases, the splint is not effective at all.

Many still thinks clubfoot can be corrected by stretching n massaging the feet. In reality, it is not enough. The tendon is too stiff and the location of the heel bone is abnormal.

We still received complaints where their child's feet slipped out from the brace. Their child can't keep wearing the brace and has been crying all day long for almost every day.

Have u alert what when wrong?

Honestly, bila orang tanya kami, dengan siapa atau hospital mana yg bagus boleh rawat kaki anak says ni? Kami tiada jawapan yg pasti kalau tanya doktor kat sini.

Sudah 14 tahun says mengenali clubfoot tetap saya masih mencari doctor yg Ponseti certified Di Malaysia ni. Sekiranya ada doktor yg berminat ke Iowa bersama saya untuk mempelajari dan hands on Ponseti Metbod, let me know ya.

 Walaubagaimana pon sy tetap suruh ibubapa ini membuat rawatan disini. 

Hakikatnya, kita tidak ada doktor yang benar2 mempunyai testimonial yg consistent in clubfoot.

Even you are with the best doctor, most importantly as the parents, kita perlu cakna dan hadam tentang rawatan clubfoot anak kita ni..

Ramai yang takde gambar anak masa lahir..kenapa ya?

Even anak day start simen masih ada yg belum mengambil gambar before dan after casting. So macam mana kita nak tahu simen kaki anak, ada hasilkan perubahan yg baik ??

So issue yg sama every year...kami tidak tahu apa2 dan ini anak kami yg pertama...so???

Kan ada pak Google...Google lah..banyak info yg kita boleh search...internet bukan untuk baca gossip sahaja atau port kita nak membawang..anak kita perlu perhatian khas ni...

14 tahun dulu saya Google juga ..even pon tak banyak info yg saya jumpa..saya cuba faham dan compare gambar2 yang saya tengok di browser, sama tak dengan kaki anakku?

Baca lah...rajin lahh sikit...kalau bukan kita yang nak tolong ambil tahu pasal kaki anak..siapa lagi?

Ambil lah gambar..sebelum treatment..selalu selfie kan? apalah salahnya amek gambar kaki anak juga..

Teenager's Clubfoot

 So, what do u expect from a clubfoot teenagers?

For some, there will be drama..some don't..but

Hmm..as for Dania..

1. Her left foot (normal) is still 1.5 size larger than the right one. Last year we bought 2 pair of school shoes with different sizes for her. We need to replacement her prep shoes as well before the school starts.

2. Yes her right calf is still thinner than normal. I always remind her to watch her weight as her right calf may not able to carry heavy body.

3. She had episodes of 'sakit kaki' when she was busy with her school activities. Oh ya, for your info, Dania is currently at one of the boarding school in Cyberjaya. Her dorm for this year is located at the upper floor. During this pandemic, we are not allowed to help her to bring all of her luggage to the dorm. She need to settle by herself, probably her friends helped her.

4. Last year was disaster. She was in pain and I cant help her that much. According to Dr Amnuay, he didnt see any problem of her feet. She need to do a lot of stretching. Yes, we had conference meeting with Dr Amnuay in Bonda Pengetua's room.  I guess her dorsiflexion is stucked at 0.  Dania was permitted to do her feet xray as per instructed by Dr Amnuay. I bought her so many painless support item while waiting for her school to allow this xray appointment.

5. Obviously, she is lazy to do stretching at school. Currently she need to be reminded and warned at home . She knew the consequences of not getting the feet stretched but being teenagers, it will never interest her.

So, my advise to you, keep on doing the stretching as regular as you can. Ask them to climb up the stairs, do some stretching using heel and sole. Make it as a routine, make it as a habit. Good habit last longer.

She said menitik air mata bila buat resdarch pasal kaki sendiri..

Ramai ibu2 diluar sana menangis dan meraung melihat anak yg baru lahir berkeadaan kaki sebegini..betul bukan?

Percayalah...clubfoot is treatable..kena betul caranya, kena jumpa org yg seangkatan untuk memberikan nasihat yg baik dan berguna..Insya Allah,,

Doakan terbuka hati Dania until menjadi pakar Ortho kanak2 yg baik dan pakar mengenai clubfoot.

One day in later life, bole share experience anak2 and make him or her proud of our achievement.
